Dr. Lai received his Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Immunology in 1995 from McGill University. Because of his desire to have a personal interaction with people, he entered the Faculty of Dentistry at McGill in 1997, and in 2001, moved to Calgary to begin is practice.
Dr. Lai’s licensing include the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia and the Alberta Dental Association and College. Dr. Lai also serves as a member of the BC Dental Association, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Calgary and District Dental Society.
He’s committed to continuing his expertise and education by regularly attending international dentistry conferences and completing annual continuing education courses. Since graduating from dental school, Dr. Lai has completed over 700 hours of continuing education coursework.
Dr. Gough’s family has been in Calgary for three generations, and he’s committed to providing a service to the people of the community he loves.
He received his BSc and DDS degrees from the University of Alberta in 1990, after which he began serving in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Dental Officer. Dr. Gough was deployed throughout Canada, as well as overseas with the Field Surgical Hospital, allowing him to develop his surgical skills.
After completing his Army service, Dr. Gough began two practices in Calgary. During his time in private practice, Dr. Gough was part of the Calgary and District Dental Society, and was the Southern Alberta Coordinator for Open Wide Alberta. Open Wide Alberta is a day across the province where dentists donate free care to people in need. Dr. Gough also taught radiology in the SAIT dental assisting program.
After working at his private practices for 12 years, Dr. Gough sold his practice, and along with his family moved to the South Pacific island of Tonga to provide humanitarian dental care. He helped implement oral health education programs in the local schools, and ran a free dental clinic, providing care to 6000 people.
In 2007, Dr. Gough and his wife Carol, and four children, returned to Calgary.
He’s completed more than 3500 hours of continuing education in dentistry, and is an accredited member of the Alberta and Canadian Dental Associations.
He’s also adept at wisdom teeth removal, having completed more than 10,000 successful cases.
Dr. Bueckert is a native of Nova Scotia and received both her BSc and DDS from Dalhousie University. She practised in Halifax, then in New Brunswick where she built a practise based largely on family/paediatric dentistry, providing sedation and hospital dentistry. Dr Bueckert then moved to Portland, Maine with her family where she associated in a group practice for 6 years. She came back to Canada in 2006 and has been in Calgary since then.
Dr. Bueckert is a member of the CDA, ADA&C, past member of the Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Association. She also served as president of the Fredericton Dental Society.
Dr. Bueckert is recently remarried and has a blended family of 4 children. You'll often find her in the kitchen baking up a storm. Her other passion is bodybuilding, having competed internationally over the last 10 years. Someone else has to eat the cookies.
